Needs Assesment

Over the last several years at the North End Middle School there have been several discussions about the need for materials
to aid parents in familiarizing themselves with the schools buildings as well as the house, team and teachers room locations.

These needs were brought up at previous open houses and at PTA Reform and TQU committee meetings.

I decided to build a PowerPoint Presentation of the academic roster complete with room assignments and team breakdowns as well as subject areas.

The parents will also be given handouts of the House Offices Teams (6,7 or 8th) they need and one for the Unified Arts ares (Gym, Art, Music etc.)

  • This presentation was developed with both Felt and Expressed Needs.
  • Felt - The new parents to the building will obviously need some direction
  • Expressed - The parents of the older students have expressed an interest in something to aid them in finding class locations.
  • The parents who know the building layout have also stated how each year the teams change because of tachers retiring or transferring.
  • The presentation will serve as a tool for people to learn the layouts of the two buildings of the school.
  • The presentation will also make it easier to locate the three House Offices (6th, 7th and 8th) as well as the team breakdowns and teacher room assignments.
  • The phases used for this assesment are:
    1. Planning
    2. Collecting Data / Info (Ask Parents)
    3. Analyze the Data
    4. Compiling a Report
    5. Review and Adjust
